Greetings CCMS families,
Sisters in Action is hosting their 2nd Annual Masquerade Ball on November 7 from 6 pm- 8 pm. Tickets are on sale, and the cost is $15.00. Students can pay for the dance at the fee window. The last day to buy tickets will be October 31st. There are only 300 spots available, so first come, first serve. This will be a night of fun. Bring your best dress, your dancing shoes, and don't forget your mask. Masks will be provided if students do not have one.
Just for clarification no ski mask and no full face mask.

6th grade parents -- MUSC is coming to town! Their mobile vaccine clinic is coming to our school next Monday, November 3rd. This is a fantastic opportunity to make sure your child gets that mandatory Tdap vaccine, as well as other vaccines they offer, without having to miss work/school. Think your child is already up to date? Give me a call at the school (ext 22007) and I will check for you. Consent forms will be going home today.

Ms. Weathers shared "My classes recently started reading The Lightning Thief, and a student told me that he was so excited to read when he came to class. He said it was the best book he had ever read! I love seeing our students excited about reading!"

The Colleton County School District athletics department has shared the weekly sports schedule for October 20, 2025 through October 25, 2025. Friday night is a home football game as well as "Senior Night." Please come out and support our athletes and seniors.

On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, Colleton County School District held the Committee of the Whole Meeting. During this meeting, we were proud to have the Forest Hills Elementary Paw Patrol read the mission statement and greet guests as they arrived. Superintendent Jessica Williams provided staff recognitions as outlined below.
School board members who received the "Boardmanship Institute Recognition" for points earned from attending various board leadership meetings included Mr. Craig Stivender who earned a level 2 distinction for having earned at least 40 points and Mrs. Sharon Witkin who earned a level 4 distinction for having earned at least 200 points.
The "Above and Beyond" recognitions are nominated by the school principals and included the following: Bells Elementary - Lily Heyward, Black Street Early Childhood Center - Taleija Hill, Cottageville Elementary - Jaymar Gilbuena, Hendersonville Elementary - Sonia Inabinett, Colleton County Middle School - Rhonda Kierpiec, Colleton County High School - Deborah Daniels, Thunderbolt Career & Technology Center - Brian Wilson.
"Special Recognition" was given to CCHS NJROTC instructor PR1 Christopher Hutchens. His colleague, Chief Kenneth Delee, nominated him for a job well done. Over the last 10 years of his tenure with the program, PR1 Hutchens has mentored over 1400 students, produced over 100 cadets who went on to join the military as a career after high school and has helped cadets earn 1 million dollars in scholarships.
The Office of Student Nutrition were recognized for a job well done. Director, Mrs. Kristina Wallace, welcomed her staff to the podium for recognition. Staff included Karen Finley, Melinda Risher, Maeetta Hicks, Kurt Finley, Eva Gibson, Brenda Washington, Alice Robinson, Marilyn Pye, Sallie Aiken, Linda Fryar, Patricia Floyd, Harriett Wade, Robin Shrewsbury, Hubert Erwin, Bertie Crosby, Theresa Linder, Phyllis Johns, Peggy Byyah, Hollie Bailey, Sherrill Sanders, April Bridge, Janice Bowers, Gloria Wright, Paullette Barnes, Irish Simmons, Mercedez Raiford, Kimberly Barnes, Clarissa Cockrum, Susan Rivers, Sheryl Rudy, Belinda Robinson, Jaime Infinger, Karen Barnes, Lisa Davis and Karen Fennell.

The Colleton County School District Athletics Department is very excited to share the weekly athletic calendar for October 13th - October 18th. This Friday, October 17th is "Hall of Fame" night. Please plan to come out to show your support as we honor these alumni.

Colleton County First Responders invites you to their National Night Out on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 6pm to 8pm. This is a great way to meet your local first responders. This is a free event and they will have food, vendors, games and more.
