Principal's Message

Welcome to Colleton County Middle School!

Dear Cougar Families,

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself to you as the new Principal of Colleton County Middle School.  I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and supportive school community.

My career has spanned over the past 24 years as a Military Leader, Professional School Counselor, School Administrator, and International Student Support Specialist. I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader to CCMS, and to work with you as a partner in education – ensuring your child’s success.

I view education as a life-long process, and expect that I will continue to learn much about the uniqueness of CCMS this year and in the years to come. My vision is for every student to become College and Career Ready. I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my student-centered approach to help develop the Global Leaders of Tomorrow. Middle School is an incredible journey – one of transformation and growth, both intellectual and emotional.  It is essential that our staff, parents, and students become partners on this journey, and that we bring with us to school a positive attitude and willingness to try new things.  Many thanks to our parents for sending us the best kids in the world to work with each and every day!

I want you to know that you can always contact me with any comments and/or questions.  I can be reached via email at [email protected] or by phone at (843) 782-0040.  It is my hope that you will always feel comfortable reaching out to me should the need arise.  I would encourage all staff and parents to join the PTO, and to support its many activities throughout the year.

Here’s to an amazing year at CCMS! Let’s make it a memorable one for all members of the CCMS learning community.

Thank you for your continuous support,

Micheal B. Keitt, M. Ed.
