COVID-19 Update 3/17/21

COVID Notification
Posted on 03/17/2021

March 17, 2021

Dear Parents:

I am writing this letter to notify you that one student has tested positive for COVID-19.  All students or staff members who have been considered a "close contact" (defined as being within 6 feet of a COVID positive person for at least 15 minutes) will receive a notification from the school nurse.

In an abundance of caution, and in accordance with our COVID Case Protocols, we have required all "close contact" students to quarantine for 14 days effective immediately as recommended by South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SC DHEC).  Colleton County School District will continue to implement safety protocols in partnership with South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SC DHEC) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

If you are receiving this letter and you have not been notified by the school nurse, this letter serves as a notification of a case within your child's school and we are asking you to please continue to monitor your student daily for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 to include:

Shortness of breath

Chills

Loss of taste or smell

Fatigue

New or worsening cough

Headache

Sore throat

Congestion or runny nose

Muscle or body aches

Diarrhea

 Nausea or vomiting

Fever

We thank you for your continued support in assisting us with keeping our students staying safe and healthy. We will continue to follow the guidance of the CDC and SCDHEC as it pertains to COVD-19 in schools. For any questions or concerns, please reach out to your student's principal, school nurse or the Colleton County School District Office at (843) 782-4510.

Sincerely,

Lauren Behie

 Principal
